A RESPONSE TO THE IDEA OF 15 MINUTE CITIES
Someone on my social media actually supported this concept, my response was “I honestly thought you were joking. The world has moved on since then. Communities don’t exist, extended families live apart, the majority of people I favour live far more than 15 minutes or even miles from me. I do not want taxing, fining, restricting or penalising for sustaining personal contact with them. My parents are close by, my sister is 4hrs away, have no clue where my kids settled.
People will say ..”you won’t be penalised or taxed” and sure politicians will tell us just that, but we know as soon as they can enforce restrictions they will, and as for us having rights, Starmer proved how weak they truly are. My only real enjoyment that keeps me here beyond those I care about and care about me is exploring on my motorbike, once that is finished I likely will be too.
So no as far as I am concerned 15 minute cities are a true extension of an authoritarian elitist system, where the low incom folk will be imprisoned in government derived economic Ghettos, and the wealthy will just pay their tax or pay to evade it and continue merrily with their entitled existence”.
So my considered opinion, no matter what we are told they will be, is bloody hell no!
