Criminal lawmakers

I do get why people will support the Crime and Policing Bill. Every day we see horrific crimes happening, to often reported on TikTok or other social media, many of these violent and scary incidents happen in our communities or ones we know.

I understand the frustration of knowing who has committed a crime, just to be told by the police that there is nothing they can do.

I have been a victim of violent crime several times, almost always due to my seeming vulnerable, on sticks, crutches or even in my wheel chair.

But here is the crux (not crutch), each and every time, whether it’s caused by my visible vulnerability or not, the police refuse to see an attack upon a disabled person as a hate crime, and each time have refused to act. The last time the behaviour of the attending officer in itself was aggressive and bullying, and resulted in a formal complaint, that  ultimately became subject to the proverbial “cover up” and “lip service”.

It’s not powers the police need to do their jobs, it’s provision and accountability.

I do not know of anyone that respects the police, especially me to be honest, and I worked alongside them for many years. Yes there are good and bad in all roles, but sadly in my humble opinion the police have more rotten apples than most services.

If the police can be bothered to do their job, it is amazing what they have the power to achieve.

Police already can enter your home with “probable cause” or if they believe you or someone else is in immediate risk of harm, in  other words, if they have cause to believe a crime is being committed or that someone is in danger they can smash windows or even your front door.

In my role, I on many occasions told the police to gain entry to people’s homes, always with a credible and supportive belief that people, children, families and adults were at risk  on odd occasions due to fire arms being known to be at the property, and being used for either a threat or worse.  These requests or instructions were never in my personal experience refused due to the need for a warrant.

Yes if there is time to get a warrant the police will endeavour to do so, but a duty inspector can authorise entry.

Sadly though now the police have become unfit for purpose, in Derbyshire for instance, when you call the police, you are met with a recording telling you that they will not investigate any reports of burglar alarms, and they don’t.

If you report a break in or theft you will only receive an incident or crime number. They won’t attend, unless they have intelligence and exceptional reason to do so, (or unless you live in an expensive property, which they will deny but has been proven and confirmed to me over the years, and if you are a mason you likely will receive a different more proactive response than the rest of us.

So why these new and as they should be described “Draconian Laws” that government and in particular Starmer’s regime wish to bring in?

  • People seen as political agitators (anyone who the government see as adversarial to them, that will be me then) can be raided without cause or notice.
  • Suspected terrorist (or people that are not white British) can be raided without cause or notice)
  • Raids without cause or notice can be used as a means to control by threats and fear
  • People can be dissuaded from talking out against government due to the real and credible fear of being raided without cause or notice.
  • A political master such as Minister or Prime Minister, or even civil servant can instruct the police to raid people’s homes, despite there not being any credible cause or notice.
  • It removes a level of (often only imagined) protection from the misuse of police and security agency powers.
  • It removes yet more of our protections and rights, which,  were won for us at a cost of blood, and lives of those who lived before us. These rights we hold are the bane of those controlling or seeking to control us.

As a sub note to this, it has come to light this week that the government of the UK has told Apple to not update your phones with a security update that would prevent the government, the security forces and their private contractors gaining access to your phones. The UK is the only Country to do this, and given we are also seemingly the only country with the most complex legislation, written in statute and case law, with a path to conviction without trial, and with more cctv per head than any other country in the world including China and North Korea, we should all have huge alarm bells ringing in our heads.

This governments stripping and erosion of the rights of its citizens is wore blatant than any since Hitler or Stalin, yet we just sit on Facebook, on other social media or watching soaps or other inane tv and let them carry on.

If you can’t be bothered standing against this, if you don’t see the issues, if all you want to do is  bury your heads, then you need to understand that you are sadly betraying the very future of our children and all to come.

Don’t take my word for it, go do some research, read about the industrial revolution, look at the rights that were won by our forebears,  what life was like before and after.

What’s going to be next, maybe the taking away of even the fallacy of democracy from women, from the working class or the destruction of the remainder of the few rights we retain.

All I write is based upon my personal experiences, I do not rely upon books beyond those that inform us of our history, the events that preceded our lives, and even then given history is written by the victors, I hold healthy scepticism.

About me:

I am currently 57yrs old, I left school in the height of Thatcher’s “reign” of misery.

When I left school I began a Youth Training Scheme (YTS), I lasted a few weeks on my £25 per week wage. I then went to college doing a preliminary certificate in social care (PCSC).

I was already political but became an officer for the Student Union (NUS) and chair of the college’s Labour Group. This was when I first faced a police horse back charge at Warrington, when i saw the true role of the police, to keep us in line and their paymasters safe. I also began gaining experience of picket lines, marches, demos and even direct action.

I was a member of CND, Anti Nazi League and Anti Fascist Action. I joined the Labour Party.

I left college in the first year to get a job in a “Nursing Home”  that was truly poorly regulated. The owners paid off the fire brigade inspectors or whoever in the local authority that was supposed to inspect their provision. As a 16yr old lad, I was often left solely in charge of a 12 bed home, with people who all had extremely challenging needs.

I stayed as long as I could but soon realised in was nor safe for the residents nor myself.

I then went on a community program working for Keep Britain Tidy. I was Dicky Dustbin, and ended up on Radio Manchester being interviewed dressed as a dustbin.

I left there and worked in what could only be described as a sweat shop run by two Evangelical preachers. Their Christian beliefs of love, empathy and acceptance did not stretch to their work force.

Next I went on to driving buses for many years, starting off with GM buses little gems, then beeline buses “Busy Bees” city sprint.

I worked on buses and coaches, in England and Wales.

Throughout this time I volunteered in Youth Clubs both in rural and inner city areas.

I then kinda fell into Children’s residential care, firstly as a relief worker but then part time and full time.

I was seconded to do my social work qualification and once qualified worked all over the UK often working as a trouble shooter in areas that were in crisis.

I specialised in Child Protection,  but also worked with adults and families.

A few years ago now I had to medically retire from Social Work, but keep my registration up to date and even now try to undertake appropriate pro bono tasks for people in crisis or fighting for support in a failing system.

So that’s pretty much me, and where my views formed through my own experiences.

When I write, I do so with passion, empathy when deserved, and honesty.

Thank you all for reading this far. Please feel free to follow me on social media and share anything you feel is appropriate.

Primate Conflict

Why the f#*k do these Prime Ministers feel they have the right to send people off to die, then wear the fact they have gone to war as a badge of honour. Put Von Starmerführer in the ring with Putin if he wants a battle. I am tired of these vile men and women culling the youth of ours and other nations.
People think Britain is democratic, but it’s a dictatorship just with different poster boys and girls. I won’t dignify them as adults, with their 2D minds.
We truly do need to wake up, see our true enemy, and if we have blood lust for anyone, let it be them.

My dad

My dad Eric (the brave)

The NHS is beyond on its knees, truly not at breaking point, that was history. GP practices turning seriously ill folk away before they are even triaged. People queueing outside for non existent appointments, but can’t phone in because the phone lines are jammed every day.
When or rather if someone gets an appointment, it’s for a locum doctor who will be gone before any further appointment is made.
Tasks not completed by overwhelmed GP’s and practice staff.
People sadly are being missed and dying because of this. But if you are a private patient it’s completely different.

It us the same with hospitals sadly, especially in my experience Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

This is a chronology of my dad’s journey this year.

Eric’s journey to date – abridged

  1. January 2024 Admitted to Chesterfield with stomach, back pains and temperature
  2. Wrong diagnosis made in A&E
  3. Wrong diagnosis made upon ward, no treatment started.
  4. Was told he had terminal cancer and would die soon by Urology Registrar, without any evidence or cause. This was with the entire family
  1. Gave up hope and stopped eating. Was gagging on food. Prescribed 40 sips
  2. Kidney function deteriorated rapidly
  3. Blockage between the kidney and bowel identified.
  4. Discharged with severe sepsis
  5. 3Hrs later taken by ambulance to A&E and readmitted
  6. Attempt to clear blockage failed
  7. Second attempt to clear blockage failed
  8. Attempt to insert stent failed both from above and below.
  9. Was given a nephrostomy
  10. Discharge planning arranged at home by his son as ward failed to do so
  11. Initial support provided by both community health and social care.
  12. District nurses not familiar with nephrostomy and treat as if a simple catheter. They are confused by valve. On one occasion pulled tube out of kidney causing a need reinsertion in X-ray dept
  13. Second occasion pulled out by catching. Then had infection, treated in hospital on antibiotics
  14. Reinsertion failed and had to be repeated following day as tube came out immediately
  15. Ongoing issues when district nurses do bag, occasionally one will know what they are doing but often not.
  16. Referred to Urology at Sheffield.
  17. On Thursday last week he had visit from practice nurse due to his being sick when eating. Nurse prescribed anti-sickness medication
  18. Friday GP practice again contacted but would not provide support.
  19. Friday evening 111 sent paramedic Practitioner out. They were concerned about low sodium levels, advised emergency blood tests Monday am. Prescribed antibiotics for suspected urinary infection
  20. GP practice refused to undertake blood tests
  21. Monday afternoon took to Urology at Sheffield for prearranged appointment, however Hallam Specialist agreed urgent blood tests required. These were done on ward
  22. 12.30 at night call from Urology doctor at Hallam stating blood tests showed extremely low sodium 120. Advised take to closest A&E urgently
  23. Sheffield Urology doctor rang A&E nurse at Chesterfield and explained urgency
  24. 1am arrived at A&E Chesterfield Royal, were initially seen quickly, and told they would get him medicated ASAP.
  25. 4.30 spoke to A&E sister, she stated no contact received from Sheffield.
  26. Simon got Urology Doctor from Sheffield on my phone to talk to her directly.
  27. Dad moved from A&E waiting room to consultation room. Both Eric and his wife were now beyond exhausted.
  28. Simon left to go home and take medications for chronic health conditions
  29. Eric moved to a corridor
  30. Eric moved to Majors
  31. Eric moved to a corridor again
  32. Eric moved to EMU, this is where he received his first medication 16hrs after admission. Sodium now 116
  33. Simon spoke to EMU staff and had to again explain issues.
  34. Helen rang EMU spoke to nurse upon ward.
  35. Simon and Margaret arrived at EMU, spoke to Junior doctor, then were joined by the hospital divisional director. Suspicion of pneumonia or sepsis in lungs. Eric prescribed new antibiotics
  36. Plan made for scans to neck
  37. Eric moved to Ashover ward, adult frailty ward, onto a closed bay that had infectious patients on it.
  38. Following morning they were going to discharge Eric despite sodium levels still being low and on intravenous sodium.
  39. Registrar  agreed plan for discharge. This was sickness to be stopped, Nephrostomy bag changed and scans to brain and gullet with results
  40. Thursday Eric discharged from Adult Frailty ward, family told his sickness had stopped 18hrs before.
  41. Upon discharge at home, Eric stated he was still being sick and continued to be so at home. Unable to keep food or medications including antibiotics down.
  42. Nephrostomy blocked since discharge. Eric attended A&E again, Sam – nurse from Urology met him at A&E, flushed and changed bag. Ward had not flushed and fitted the valve wrongly
  43. Blood in urine once home.
  44. District nurses attended stating blood seemed to have improved. Advised to wait. But advised contact GP to get meds in liquid form
  45. Blue Dyke Surgery stated its Friday afternoon and we are too busy
  46. Margaret stated concerned he would die if couldn’t take meds including antibiotics for lung infection. Receptionist stated not her problem.
  47. 4pm Friday 111 called ambulance which did not arrive till early following morning.
  48. Blood in urine continues
  49. Urine seems not to be draining into bag. What was in bag still blood stained.
  50. Discussion with Urology Sheffield, Helen told by reception that it’s probably a bug
  51. Simon calls Urology Sheffield, explains that Nephrostomy does not seem to be draining and that he believes it may have been dislodged or moved in kidney. He is called by staff nurse, she speaks to Urology doctor. Advise going to Northern General A&E. She believes they will likely transfer Eric to Urology at Sheffield Hallam.

He is now in Hallamshire as in-patient. Chesterfield discharged him with pneumonia, his sodium levels were 116 MEQ/L, now though they are even more dangerously low.
He was only to be discharged once the chest infection had cleared, he had stopped being sick and his sodium levels were safe.
We held the discharge up for 24hrs, but then they lied on all accounts.
I may not be able to sue them if I post on SM, but don’t want money, I want my dad, and everyone to be safe from this malpractice.
A sick patient, no matter how old is not a bleeding “bed blocker” they are a human being, they are husbands, wives, children, siblings, parents….human beings.
Governments, years and years of corrupt governments have put the NHS under immense pressure, but these staff at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Chesterfield Health Foundation Trust (formerly Blue Dyke Surgery) are deliberately colluding with government imposed pressures to not only put people at risk but, kill them through their actions, inactions, poor professionalism, and dishonesty/lies.
I will not be quiet about this, I will no longer be kept silenced by them.
My 35yr old brother died 5yrs ago because Chesterfield Royal Hospital Ridgeway nurses had no understanding of diabetes, ketoacidosis or the aggression extremely high blood sugars cause. They allowed my hallucinating brother to discharge himself with terminal kidney damage caused by blood sugars of 48mmu. He died a week later, 4 days after Christmas.
Now the same Hospital are trying to kill my father in the same way.
I spent my life protecting people from harm, even during the pandemic, after my brothers death, because I did not want anyone else to go through such pain, and now they do this, deliberately! No life lost is acceptable.

Waiting

Treatment that didn’t come for 16hrs

Health me or the country

I don’t know if I agree with the farmers reasoning or not, but I do agree with their right to protest, I agree that they and us should be listened to, and truly think that only direct action is even remotely viable as a form of protest with this basically neo-nazi excuse for what should be a Labour government.

This government has after years of corrupt, cruel and murderous consecutive Conservative governments only sought to expand on the vile policies of the Tories and their bosses. It used to be the British Establishment calling the shots but now this bunch of traitors have added Mossad and Israel to its list of masters. That is absolutely Treason in the plainest of terms. #Labour #government #Fascism #hate

My current state of health according to the recent tests and my doctors insistence of me being in hospital, which I am resisting, means I am in no way certain of a tomorrow,  but I vow I will use my words to fight these vile creatures to my very last breath, whether that be later today or more likely with a little luck, in many years to come.

Dramatic in the extreme, I know, however that’s my reality, I am told,  for today. I cannot keep a silence in the face of such continued wrongdoing. That is not my way.  If I do recover from this latest episode, which I am more than confident I will, despite the worried voices of my doctors,  I vow I will fight for people in any possible.
