Last week I had some great news from the Indian Motorcycle dealer in Northampton.
I have a Victory V92 that I believe had a recall for the gearbox, and due to mine popping out of third gear I contacted them.
After talking to their technician, who then contacted Polaris – the company who made Victorys and Indians, I was so full of joy, he told me yes there was a recall, and that once Polaris sent them the confirmation the parts had arrived, they would arrange for my bike to be picked up.
I waited but heard nothing, so today I again rang the dealers.
A different bloke answered, and started taking all my details again to start a new claim, I pointed out that the last technician had done all of this and I just wanted an update.
I explained he had to ring Polaris direct as its a US import. He said the technician was on holiday.
He after stating it needed the back brake line doing, which i questioned, said he would ring me back.
At almost 2.10pm he rang me back to say there was no recall. He said he needed to know who I spoke to, despite already knowing.
I againexplained Polaris had confirmed the recall already, and I was just awaiting a date for collection.
A heated conversation ensued, he raised his voice several times, spoke over me, and became surly.
I explained that last week I had sourced the parts to do it myself, but they have now gone and there seem to be no more available, at least in the UK, and to my knowledge even the USA..
He continued to refuse to check any further, so I explained that given their breaching the verbal contract they had with me I would review them online and upon social media. I do not want others caught out.
He told me that was slander, I explained it would not be slander just the simple truth, which this is.
He then told me I was “blackmailing him”, I explained I have the right to free speech and that his company had broken their promise and contract with me.
I admit I stand form if I feel wronged, its after a lifetime of experience.
My opinion on this main dealership is not a positive one, and personally my view from this experience is that I would recommend that if this is how Indian and Polaris treat customers, prospective buyers should look elsewhere and maybe at more reliable brands.
I am truly saddened as I love my Victory, its a fabulous bike, but as the parts are discontinued, and that I cannot source the parts needed, mine likely will now be broke and sold for parts. This may aid other owners.

Our reality 2026
Left and right wing is only relevant to the working class. Those in control dont give a shit what you believe. Their decisions, the ones we have to live by are simply what gives ‘them’ not ‘us’ the most power and control, and what will impose the most restrictions upon us.
Fascism is a tool, nothing more, simply a way to achieve their ends.
We call them the Establishment, simply because there is no other name for them.
They really do not care about your gods, your traditions, when or where you were born, who your grandad or dad was. They don’t give a damn about your skin colour, gender or sexuality, unless it fits their fantasy and whims.
You are nothing to them, we are nothing to them. Your flag raised may mean your pride in our history, it may be your rebellion or support,you may be using it to promote or rally like minded people, but the reality is the only designs they give a bugger about are the company logos they have stocks in.
There is no real nationality now, yes there are borders they use to confine us, but their land grabs of old are replaced by stocks, shares and control of whichever corporation will give them the most profit and power.
This is our world, not one of heros, simply one of pawns.
If we all wake up together we can change this world, and that is what scares them.
